Broch of Gurness, prehistoric fort on Orkney Island
|
Seems like a long time between trips, and the Supsics are raring to go! We'll be heading to Scotland to revisit Edinburgh, a favorite city we first saw over 20 years ago, and to explore the Orkney Islands. The Orkneys are located off the North Coast of Scotland and are renowned for their prehistoric ruins. In fact, the Orkneys have been called the "Egypt of the North."
Here is a recap of our trip:
Aberdeen, Scotland (3 nights) -- learn about the North Sea oil industry and taste some of Scotland's best single malt scotch whiskey
Ferry to the Orkney Islands
Kirkwall, Scotland (6 nights) -- explore the prehistoric ruins, the WWII history, and hear some traditional music
Ferry back to the mainland
Edinburgh, Scotland (6 nights) -- explore this beautiful city and take day trips to the Highlands and Rosslyn Chapel
Glasgow, Scotland (1 night) -- get a quick glimpse of this second city of Scotland
As always, thanks so much for following along with us. Get ready to do some time traveling as we go way back in time!
All our best,
Frankie & Annie McSupsic
